DJ JITEN DJ Jiten is considered by many to be the pioneer of the South Asian DJ /party scene in North America and he was the first in North America to create the Hindi Remix genre. Jiten started his career in 1990 and has been rocking parties across the world ever since. In the past 20 years, Jiten has released over 20 CD's and has toured almost every major city in North America and many across the globe. DJ Jiten has been voted Toronto's Top South Asian DJ by Toronto Life Magazine, 2007 Best DJ by M!M!M! Festival People's Choice Award, and most recently the 2009 DJ of the Year by Anokhi Magazine.  Saturday, September 5th STATUSBROWN Statusbrown consists of two Producers Harry K and Sok. Both DJ's have been serious about electronic music since 2003 at the tender age of 14. Sok attended numerous underground raves and has been a frequent visitor to rising clubs in Toronto. Once 19 Sok took advantage of his age and became a resident DJ in Toronto where he perfected his mixing with Dirty Noiz. When Sok left Toronto's residency at Club 338 in 2007 he teamed up with Harry K and became a resident to various clubs in their hometown outside of Toronto. These guys in their town are known as 'Sok & Phat Harry'. DJ PUBLICITY DJ Publicity has quickly proven himself. His indelible touch on the decks and pioneering vision has introduced the entire culture of Bhangra music to the seemingly established scene of Toronto Canada. Since then, clubs in the world's most multicultural city have never been the same. With his trademark old school feel combined with the new school infusion of South Asian music and Western hip-hop, Publicity has cemented himself as a DJ who warrants the name in which he assumes. Publicity's talents have not gone unrecognized. He was the National Tour DJ for RBC DesiFEST and was selected to represent Canada in New York City for SASA 2006. As a result of such acclaim, Publicity has collaborated with a staggering list of the finest talent from every corner of the world - from South Asia - Sukshinder Shinda, Apache Indian Jay Sean and Raghav to North America - Nina Sky, 112, DJ Kayper, Page, and Cutty Ranks. Sunday, September 6th KIDD SKILLY Kidd Skilly, an up and coming hip hop artist and the latest phenomenon out of the "Motor City", Detroit, Michigan, is on his way to greatness as he explores a new genre of music. Kidd Skilly's upbringing being all but traditional has been one of the most poignant influences on his music. Born and brought up in southwest Detroit and of Mexican?Indian heritage, Kidd Skilly's cultural experiences have had strong impacts on the uniqueness of his style and flow. His love for exploring new types of music and delving deeper than the mainstream has made him what he is today; more than a rapper or even musician, but an artist on every level. After breaking into the scene in 2004, Kidd Skilly now pushes forward with many exciting projects underway. His release of "Bhangra Chick" tore up worldwide charts, with the video airing on TV channels such as MTV, Channel V, ZeeTV and IMF. In a more recent creation, "Ni Sohniye", Kidd Skilly teams up with R&B megastar Akon. "Ni Sohniye" showcases Kidd Skilly's lyrical genius while keeping strong to his cultural roots as evident by Akon's use of Punjabi lyrics. The superstar duo proves to be a fusion of sounds not heard in today's hip hop scene that is sure the please everyone from the casual hip hop fan, to the avid Bhangra listener. DJ ASHRAFI DJ Ashrafi is India's No.1 Female DJ. Hailing from Kolkata and now rocking Mumbai with her Club and Bollywood remixes DJ Ashrafi figures among Asia's leading female disc jockeys and is rated as the top female Bollywood DJ in India. She is popularly known as the ''Queen of Bollywood Remixes''. With no professional training, DJ Ashrafi, started her career as a sound engineer in renowned Punjabi singer Sukhwinder Singh's studio in Mumbai. She is a sound engineer by day and rocks the party scene by night. Known for her high energy performances she within a short span of a few years has had the privilege of performing at top clubs and gigs in India and all over the world such as Prive, F-Bar, Manre, Hard Rock Cafe, Olive bar & Kitchen, Provogue Lounge, Elevate, Tantra, Enigma, In the Mix, Bottles & Chimneys, Capitol Orange, Lush, Dublin etc just to name a few.
