Aruna Paramasivam is currently a Management Consultant in the Philadelphia area, who has been involved with many large-scale client projects in the pharmaceutical, banking and healthcare industries over the years. Her project management expertise has given her adequate preparation for planning and executing NetIP conferences of this nature.

This is her second year as NetIP North America president, and she is excited to bring the annual conference to Toronto and reinforce NetIP's presence in Canada this year. Her goal remains to position this organization to become the most recognized premier professional brand in the South Asian community.

Ajay Chopra currently works as a public affairs consultant with The Capital Hill Group, one of Canada’s leading government relations firms. Prior to joining the Capital Hill Group, he worked in the mining industry as an Investor Relations Manager with Avalon Rare Metals. He has extensive public sector experience stemming from his work as a senior advisor to the Attorney General of Canada and Minister of National Revenue. Ajay also served as a senior advisor to the National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations. He is on the Aboriginal Committee for Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada and on the Advisory Board of the Dominion Institute. He is a former National Youth VP of the National Indo Canadian Council. A past attendee of NetIP conferences, Ajay emerged from the Boston conference inspired to have the conference return to Toronto, Canada after a ten year hiatus.

Vice-President of External Affairs, NetIP North America
Sundip Arora returns to NetIP-NA after running a sold-out conference as the co-chair of the 2008 NetIP Conference in Boston. He shifts focus this year in his new role as VP of External Affairs focusing on branding/imaging initiatives, strategic relationships with sponsors/alliance partners and managing all external affairs for the organization.

Sundip is committed to helping NetIP deliver another successful conference in Toronto and advices the conference team on all operational and strategic aspects. His goals are to help create a superlative experience for the NetIP member and conference registrant in Toronto.

In his professional life, Sundip works for a high tech start up company based out of the Boston area supporting sales engineering activities for an exciting new technology. Prior to his new life at the startup, he was an IT Strategy Consultant with a Big 4 Management Consulting firm. His drive to help NetIP North America become an exceptional non-profit organization for South Asians in America comes from his professional experience and inspiration from fellow NetIP leaders and members.

Vice-President of Technology, NetIP North America
Rohit Verma has dedicated 7 years to NetIP and manages the Technology Team in website design, systems management and online strategy. As VP of Technology and 4th year with the Annual Conference, Rohit proudly works with a very talented conference technology team that aims to feature the very best of the NetIP Conference in an engaging, easy-to-use web presence.

Rohit currently works as a Health Communications Specialist for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, specializing in health marketing and online strategy. Rohit has an M.S. in Technical Communication from the University of Colorado. Rohit also consults on web development projects for several US-based, non-profit organizations. Life outside of NetIP will generally find Rohit playing hours of tennis or cycling for miles and miles.

Karim Dhalla is currently employed by the Liberty Entertainment Group, Canada’s largest entertainment company. He is also the co-owner of a physiotherapy chain in the east end of Toronto and part-owner of Shanu and Karim Inc., a company that hosts prestigious evening social events across Toronto. Karim has been involved in and organized various unique social events for, the last 10 years.

Syerah Virani is a graduate with LLB (Hons) from the University of London and was called to the Ontario bar in 1998. Until recently,she practiced corporate/commercial law as an associate in the M&A group of a large law firm and now manages her own law practice as a sole practitioner. In 2006, Syerah acquired MyBindi.com, Canada’s leadingwebsite portal for all aspects of South Asian Arts, Entertainment and Lifestyle, and as it’s CEO and Editor-in-Chief, she currently manages all of the company’s marketing initiatives and events, as well as overseeing the content of this dynamic online community. Through MyBindi.com and in her capacity as a legal professional, Syerah has presented at many conferences and has established strong relationships within the South Asian community in Toronto and beyond.

Raj Girn is the CEO of Anokhi Media Corp., a multi-media company which owns award-winning ANOKHI Magazine, North America’s longest running South Asian Fashion, Lifestyle & Entertainment quarterly, for which she is the Publisher and Editorial Director.
She also owns RG Media Enterprises Inc. through which she licenses the use of a well established roster of celebrity interviews she has and does conduct with major personalities from Hollywood to Bollywood through her trademark, Open Chest. She is the recipient of the SASA Outstanding Achievement in Journalism Award 2004, made the Desiclub.com 50 Coolest South Asians in the World List, 2005 and was the first South Asian to receive the Warner-Lambert Professional Hygiene Award in 1999 from Monroe Community College, NYS in her previous tenure ship as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Her primary expertise lies in strategic planning, marketing and branding which has crossed a number of industries over the past 18 years including Hospitality, Health and Multi-Media. She is also well-networked within the entertainment and fashion industries with extensive knowledge of South Asian and Mainstream media as well as having spearheaded and facilitated numerous entertainment and fashion events over the past 8 years.

Mandy Maghera currently works as a political advisor to the Ontario Minister of Small Business and Consumer Services. She has extensive political experience dating back ten years. She has also worked with Canadian Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Industry Canada and Infrastructure. She developed and accompanied the Industry Minister on a trade mission to India and Pakistan and most recently was the National tour Director for a federal leadership candidate for the Liberal Party of Canada. She has served on many boards and commissions including six years on the National Indo-Canadian Council and is also the Artist Manager for DesiFest, Canada’s largest national South Asian music festival.

Adil Hirji is the Managing Partner for DOTHOST Inc., one of Canada's leading Internet Solutions firms specializing in Web Site Hosting & Development. As a web designer and developer for nearly 10 years, Adil has founded, built and sold numerous successful web entities. This has allowed him to gain thorough experience in nearly every aspect of web site development: from conceptualization, to strategic planning, designing, programming and finally launching and marketing a web site.

Recently, Adil has done freelance design work for companies such as Jamieson Labs, Gattefossé Canada, MyBindi.com, and many other leading Canadian companies. In his spare time, you can find Adil researching new business ventures, or reading about business and life. Like most leaders, he understands that knowledge is a key ingredient for success.

Dipti Rach is an events and fundraising pro, combines imaginative ideas and marketing savvy for successful outcomes for gala events, conferences and trade shows. In the last 7 years she has raised over $8-million net in proceeds from individuals and corporations. While Dipti is soliciting, negotiating, managing staff and logistics, she strives for continued improvement.
Dipti has presented at the Association of Health Care Professionals Annual Conference, created the Emerging Leaders Conference (USA), and acted in an advisory capacity for organizations such as the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce and Canada India Foundation.
Claiming strong support within the South Asian and mainstream communities, Dipti has a genuine understanding in matters of diversity. She brings experience and knowledge to events and the role they play in winning long lasting support.

Finance Chair
Siva
Siva Sanmuga is looking forward to her new role as the Finance Chair for the Toronto Chapter. Her expertise in the financial industry will no doubt be an asset to the NETIP conference committee of 2009.

Professionally, Siva graduated from McMaster University with Honors Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 2006. Upon graduation, Siva has been pursuing her career in various roles within a leading telecommunication firm in North America. In her current position as a Financial Analyst, she is responsibly for creating annual budgets, rolling forecast, & delivery of monthly financial packages. She is also pursing her Certified Management Accountant designation. In her spare time, Siva enjoys playing soccer, hiking, and painting.

Systems Techology Chair

Tanmay Kumar has been with NETIP for three years. In last two years, he played different roles at NETSAP Boston board and was involved with the 2008 NetIP Conference as Website Director. This year he joins the NETIP-NA team as the technology chair and has been contributing to the conference 2009 by setting up system infrastructure and designing/building various registration and other forms.

After working several years as a software consultant in the east coast, Tanmay recently moved to bay area. Currently he is working with Risk Management Solutions, a global leader in catastrophe risk management. In his spare time, Tanmay enjoys Tennis, ping-pong, hikes and trying out new things.
