Optional Events are only open to **already registered conference delegates* at a small additional cost. These serve as a fun-filled way to get to network in a casual and more informal manner in our conference setting. We strongly encourage all our conference attendees to register for one or more of these events as they are also a great way to see more of the rich and dynamic city of Toronto.

Saturday Afternoon Optional Event #1: Vodka Tasting

As a successful South Asian professional, learn how to experience some of the finer things in life! We bring you wine tasting with a twist…come and experience the vodka revolution this year!

Akin to wine sommeliers, the staff of Toronto's popular Pravda Vodka House is well-versed in their liquor of choice and will create a unique and personalized experience just for this year's NetIP conference. This structured event will include a short seminar, vodka tasting, as well as hors d'oeuvres all for just $40.

With hundreds of bottle of vodka on display, this Russian-themed dark and elegant bar with a Kremlin interior where portraits of Lenin oversee the crowd, is sure to be a great way to bring in happy hour on Saturday with your fellow delegates. And yes, there will be Canadian vodka to be sampled!

Pravda Vodka House is a short walk from our Sheraton Hotel, and this event will be structured where the group will meet at the hotel lobby beforehand and head over as a group.

Saturday Afternoon Optional Event #2: Amazing Race - The NetIP Season: The Race Across Toronto

You have seen the award winning reality TV show, Amazing Race! Come experience it NetIP style and see if you have the street smarts to win a race across downtown Toronto. It's the best way to take in the sights of this dynamic & vibrant city, and enjoy a personalized sightseeing experience with a strong NetIP flavour.

Participants will get a chance to interact and meet new individuals, while exploring Toronto in a unique and adventurous way.

By signing up for this event, participants will be placed in teams. Each group will be navigating through both above ground and underground pathways in downtown Toronto. We will provide you with a list of items to search and locate. Teams will be asked to take pictures, take items along the way and speak to vendors. Our committee volunteers will be positioned throughout the course to help navigate and provide information.

Please note this event will require walking through the downtown core of Toronto, so suitable footwear and clothing is advisable. Judges will decide on winners, creativity and how fast a team finished the race. See who has the brain power and brown power to emerge victorious in our NetIP version of the Amazing Race!

Please only register for one Saturday afternoon optional event since these run concurrently from 4pm to 6pm

Sunday Afternoon Optional Event: Baseball

For the first time, watch a live baseball game with your fellow NetIP conference delegates & bond over some friendly competition. Spend your Sunday afternoon at the ball park with your fellow conference delegates in discounted specially-reserved secured seats in the 200 level outfield of Rogers Centre just for the NetIP conference.

Take a self-tour of this amazing world-class facility while there….enjoy the summer day and indulge in fun banter while experiencing the excitement of a live game.

The Rogers Center is just a short walk from our Sheraton hotel, and we will make this a structured event where you will meet at the hotel and head to the game together. By the end of it, we are sure it won't be about the Blue Jays or the Yankees - it will be Team NetIP rooting for each other! We will even throw in a NetIP souvenir to make this a memorable game for you, all for just $45!

This event is on Sunday afternoon from 1pm to 4pm.

Saturday Evening Optional Event: Speed Networking

Our most popular optional event returns in its own exclusive time slot! Speed Networking is a structured event that puts both outgoing and more reserved individuals on a level playing field by facilitating one-on-one conversations. Every 3 minutes, a bell will ring and the conversation will break up for another one to start!

Presented by Bharat Matrimony, Speed Networking is a focused yet fun way to ensure that you make the most number of contacts in the shortest amount of time - forge new friendships and with luck, you may just meet that someone special.

Since this event is always a sell-out, it is scheduled for Saturday evening and will NOT conflict with any other optional events this year.
